What are kiln dried wood logs?
Kiln dried wood logs are hardwood or softwood logs that we have dried in our specially designed kiln. Our industrial log drying chamber allows our firewood to be exposed to controlled temperatures and airflow. This process is used to remove the moisture significantly faster and more thoroughly than seasoning. During this process, the moisture content of our logs is reduced to below 20%, giving us kiln dried firewood logs that are ready to burn with no extra drying time needed.
How the kiln drying process works
- Wood selections– We select a range of our locally sourced, high-quality hardwood or softwood for the drying process.
- Log stacking– Our logs are then carefully stacked with spacing to allow for optimum airflow inside our drying kiln.
- Carefully controlled drying– Hot air circulates through our kiln, slowly and evenly reducing moisture levels of our logs over several days.
- Moisture– Before we sell our logs, we make sure that all kiln dried wood logs are under 20% moisture and ready for use.
- Packaging & delivery– Once our logs are dry, they are ready to be delivered and used immediately by our satisfied customer.
Our kiln drying process ensures all of our kiln dried firewood logs perform consistently, offering our customers the maximum heat output and a clean burn.
